Mana is available for private charter during the winter season & frequently sails out of Hope Town in the Abocos Islands.

What an exceptional day. We had the delight of going out on Mana for a small cruise and we were absolutely delighted! This was one of the best days out and my fear of being seasick was put to rest. But the real highlight of the day was the Captain and Crew – Neville and Catherine are seriously the friendliest people ever and they have sailed around the world! I liked the fact that it wasn’t some old tired company, that had given 1000 tours and was just going through the motions. Neville and Catherine take tremendous pride in what they do and go out of the way to make sure we have a good time when onboard. Catherine and Neville were amazing hosts! We spent the day exploring the coves and bays around Newport. By the afternoon it felt like we were sailing with old friends! Mana was so luxurious and comfortable. While we anchored Neville even rigged a hammock for us to lounge in – is there anything better?! FAQs

Q: Will we share Mana with other guests?

A: Mana is a private charter which means the boat will be reserved exclusively for you and your guests.

Q: Do captains change with each charter?

A: Every Mana charter is captained and operated by the owners – Neville and Catherine – so you always know precisely who will be at the helm.

Q: What clothing would you recommend?

A: Summers in Newport are a delight! But ocean breezes can be cool so perhaps bring a warm layer. Please wear deck shoes (white soles) or, as is a yachting tradition, you will be requested to remove shoes when you step aboard. Also, don’t forget a hat and a little sunscreen!

Q: May I bring food and refreshments?

A: All our private charters include refreshments but you may also bring your own. But sorry, no liquor (rum, whisky, vodka etc) is allowed.

Q: What is provided with each charter?

A: Refreshments are provided for each Mana charter – fresh pastries are served with freshly brewed coffee in the morning; tea and snacks are served in the afternoon; and a charcuterie board (prepared by Bellevue Boards) is served in the evening for our sunset charter. Filtered and sparkling water are always available.

Mana also comes fully equipped with tableware, napkins, a cooler, ice, champagne bucket; indoor/outdoor seating and dining areas; Bluetooth enabled indoor/outdoor speakers; lounging cushions; comfortable beanbags; and for custom charters, the opportunity to swim at anchor, SUP or simply lounge in a hammock.

Q: What is your cancellation policy?

A: Guests may cancel up to 72 hours before their schedule cruise and receive a 100% refund. Cancellations within 24 hours – 72 hours before a scheduled cruise will receive a refund of 50% of the total cruise package. Cancellations made within 24 hours of the scheduled cruise time will not receive a refund unless the cruise is cancelled by the captain due to weather, safety or unforeseen issues.

A: Yes. From 2007 – 2021 Neville and Catherine spent fourteen years exploring the world under sail and are among the most experienced couples offering private charters in Newport, Rhode Island. Not only can Neville and Catherine share stories of Newport’s gilded history, but for those wishing to learn how to sail – whether to Block Island or Bermuda, or to embark on a voyage around the world of their own – they can even offer a little practical advice to help get you there.
